A Necromancer in Season 14 doesn't get carried by one lucky drop. The class feels strongest when every part of the kit feeds the next one: Essence spending triggers damage, damage creates pressure, minions handle background jobs, and defensive tools keep the run alive. That's why browsing Diablo 4 Items makes more sense when you know what your build is missing. Blood Wave and Blood Blight can both hit hard, but neither feels good if you're constantly dry on Essence or getting deleted by one heavy attack.
Blood Wave Needs a Working Engine
Blood Wave is more than a big Ultimate now. With Hematolagnia, it becomes a repeatable spender, which changes the whole rhythm of combat. You're no longer waiting around for a cooldown. You're casting, grouping enemies, spending Essence, and setting up Overpower windows again and again. Kessime's Legacy is the item that makes this playstyle click because its extra waves pull targets toward the same area. That matters in real runs. Enemies stay packed together, fewer casts miss, and bosses don't get pushed out of your damage zone. Still, a Blood Wave build with poor recovery feels awful. Ring of Starless Skies and Banished Lord's Talisman are valuable because they support the spending loop instead of merely adding another flashy multiplier.
Blight Has Become Much More Active
Blood Blight plays differently. It isn't the old slow damage-over-time style where you drop a pool and wait. The Blood version wants attack speed, crit chance, Overpower scaling, and smart positioning around the explosion. Sever also helps more than people expect. It gets you into packs, keeps the pace moving, and can leave corpses behind for the rest of the setup. Minions aren't just there to pad a damage number either. They can apply curses, generate Fortify, trigger Lucky Hit effects, and keep enemies occupied while you line up Blight casts. Players looking for D4 items cheap should avoid buying into a random pile of Uniques first; the better move is filling the weak link in the rotation, whether that's resource sustain, attack speed, or survivability.
Endurant Faith Is a Progression Item
Endurant Faith has become a serious option for Necromancers pushing difficult Pit tiers, Tower content, or punishing bosses. It won't stop all incoming damage, and it doesn't replace armour, resistances, Life, or healing. What it does is buy time when a single hit would normally end the attempt. The delayed damage gives you a chance to use Blood Mist, move away, drink a potion, or rebuild Fortify. That breathing room is often worth more than a small damage increase. The Season 14 version has lower damage reduction than older item descriptions show, but the effect still changes how safely a fragile damage build can play.
Farm With a Purpose
There's no guaranteed one-boss route for Endurant Faith, so efficient farming beats wishful thinking. Run content that produces plenty of Unique drops, then work the seasonal loop through Ruptures, Deathtoll Chambers, Superior Lair Keys, and Corrupted Reaper attempts. Patch 3.1.1a made the Reaper more appealing by improving Mythic and Iconic Unique drop rates, while crafted Mythics can now be equipped together. Even so, don't force purple items into every slot. A Legendary Aspect or a class Unique like Kessime's Legacy may be the piece that actually holds the build together. The best setup is the one that can keep casting, keep moving, and survive long enough to finish the fight.
