Season 14's July hotfix gives players something the original Mythic setup didn't: permission to actually use the gear they worked for. With the crafted cap gone, Diablo 4 Items can support a full build instead of sitting in a stash because another crafted Mythic already claimed the one allowed slot.

What Does the New Mythic Freedom Actually Change

It's not just more loot. It's more room to make a build feel like your own.
You can mix crafted Mythics across slots, test odd combinations, and keep a specialist Unique without locking yourself into one safe choice.

1. Crafted Mythics Can Now Work Together
This matters most for players who were already deep into farming fragments and Cube materials.
Before the hotfix, every crafted Mythic had to beat every other crafted Mythic. That made niche choices hard to defend.
Here's what changed.
• Multiple crafted Mythics can now be equipped in the same loadout.
• Corrupted Reaper Mythic drop rates were increased, improving repeated farming runs.
• Upgrade to Mythic now costs four Pandemonium Fragments rather than five.
That creates real build planning. One Mythic can cover defence, another can help resources, and another can push your main damage setup without the old one-item rule getting in the way.

2. Necromancer Uniques Have More Space to Shine
Necromancer players benefit because many of their best Uniques are built around a single skill or minion plan.
You're no longer pressured to ditch those identity pieces just because a crafted Mythic looks strong on paper.

• Deathless Visage received stronger Bone Spear echo and Critical Strike damage rolls.
• Mace of King Leoric now offers a much larger Golem damage bonus for minion setups.
• Ebonpiercer deals double damage with Blight's Piercing Darkness variant.
• Cruor's Embrace gained a higher damage range for Blood-focused builds.
These aren't automatic best-in-slot picks. They're better when the rest of the gear can support them. A Bone Spear build, for example, can keep Deathless Visage and still add Mythics in slots that solve survival or resource issues.

3. Don't Treat the Cube Recipe Like a Safe Upgrade
The new freedom doesn't remove every risk. The Horadric Cube can still eat a great Unique and return a different Mythic from the same gear slot.
That's a huge difference when you're holding a near-perfect class item.
Keep these rules in mind.
• The recipe preserves the equipment slot, not the original item's identity.
• A well-rolled Unique can disappear even if the result is technically a Mythic upgrade.
• Endurant Faith remains useful for burst protection, but its damage reduction was lowered to 15-20%.
Use the Cube on duplicates or replaceable gear. If your build needs Cruor's Embrace or another specific Unique effect, don't gamble that slot away just to chase a purple item.

Which Season 14 Gear Route Should You Choose
Run several crafted Mythics if your build has clean slot synergy. Keep Necromancer Uniques when they define your damage engine. Use Endurant Faith when burst deaths are the problem, not as a blanket defensive fix.
